ARGENTINA: October CPI Inflation, September Wages

  • October CPI inflation data are expected to show a further moderation in monthly inflation, with analysts looking for a 3.0% m/m increase in prices, after a 3.5% gain in September. In annual terms, headline inflation is expected to slow to 193.6% y/y, from 209% (1900GMT/1400ET). The improvement will be helped by lower food price inflation, but core ex-food CPI is also seen slowing towards 3% m/m as well.

  • Separately, wage data for September are also due at 1900GMT. In August, wages rose by 5.7% m/m, following a 7.5% gain in July.
  • Meanwhile, Economy Minister Caputo is scheduled to speak at a business conference at the Buenos Aires Stock Exchange at 1530GMT(1230ET). Caputo will be followed by Finance Secretary Pablo Quirno, who is set to speak at 1630GMT(1330ET).
