STOCKS: Asia-Pacific stocks traded in mixed fashion with trade war worries
dominating sentiment.
- The Nikkei traded flat as the energy & materials sectors provided the largest
boost, while utilities dragged.
- The Hang Seng lost 0.2% as the consumer discretionary sector weighed, although
the real estate sector provided a modest cushion. The CSI 300 lost 0.7% as trade
tensions overshadowed A shares' inclusion in the MSCI indices.
- The ASX 200 shed 0.5% as telecoms and financials weighed.
- US index futures lodged modest gains, with the mini Dow 20 points higher and
the e-mini S&P 2 points higher.
