DOLLAR: Asian equities weighed on risk sentiment overnight which saw the Nikkei
print fresh ytd lows. USDJPY pressured on the move took out reported
option-related support at Y112.00 on the move to extended pullback lows of
Y111.87. Further support is noted at Y111.80, a break opens the Oct 26 low &
1.618% swing Y112.24-113.71 at Y111.38/33. The DXY trades back under 97 to keep
the recent downtrend intact. A break of yesterday's low at 96.55 opens a move
toward the 96.00 level(96.04 - Nov 20 low). Below here opens the 100-dma & 50%
retracement of 93.81-97.71 at 95.93/76. The US 10y breached long-term uptrend
line support from the July 2016 low to 2.7459%, levels previously highlighted in
our analysis email (US 10-year yields accelerating trend - Dec 18). Gold traded
through the 200-dma ($1252.69) to $1258.09 yesterday, but failed to close above
with the subsequent reversal extending through Asia. Last $1246.96.
