Atlanta Fed GDPNow Estimate Gains Slightly

The Atlanta Federal Reserve's latest estimate for real GDP growth for Q2 '23 (seasonally adjusted annual rate) is currently at 2.2% from 2.0% last week.
  • After recent data points, the Atlanta Fed cites a "change in real net exports to second-quarter real GDP growth from -1.05% to -0.73% and increases in the nowcasts of second-quarter real gross private domestic investment growth and second-quarter real government spending growth from 7.9% and 2.4%, respectively, to 8.9% and 2.7%.
  • Figures "were partly offset by a decrease in the nowcast of second-quarter real personal consumption expenditures growth from 1.8% to 1.4%.
