Atlanta Fed’s GDPNow Revised Down From Prior Highs For 4Q23

  • The Atlanta Fed’s GDPNow for Q4 was revised down to 2.3% annualized from 2.7% in the Dec 19 update, after the latter had marked the highest for the Q4 vintage.
  • It was driven by expected real personal consumption growth being revised down from 3.0% to 2.4%.
  • Yesterday’s third reading for the Q3 national accounts saw real GDP growth get revised back down to the 4.9% from the advance reading, with consumption revised down from 3.6% to 3.1%.
