AUD Firmer In Early Trade

AUD has firmed in early dealing and is the strongest performer in the G-10 space at the margins. Elsewhere in G-10 space ranges have been narrow with little follow through on moves.

  • AUD/USD is ~0.2% firmer, last printing at $0.6737/40. We sit a touch above the 50-Day EMA ($0.6735), however recent highs remain intact for now.
  • Kiwi is a touch higher, however ranges have been narow with resistance seen ahead of $0.6220 and support at $0.62.
  • Yen is unchanged from yesterday's closing levels. USD/JPY remains in an over-arching uptrend. Resistance is seen at ¥134.75, a Fibonacci retracement point, and support at ¥132.96 the 20-Day EMA.
  • BBDXY is little changed thus far today, US Treasury Yields are a touch higher and e-minis are ~0.1% softer.
  • There is a thin data calendar for the remainder of today's Asia-Pac session. Further out we have the UK CPI, final print of Eurozone CPI and the Fed releases the Beige Book.
