AUD Lags In Slow Start To Asia-Pac Trade


It has been a pretty uninspiring start to the Asia-Pac session, with participants mulling familiar themes in the absence of fresh catalysts. Major crosses have held tight ranges.

  • AUD/USD tested the water under yesterday's low. The rate printed its worst levels in six weeks. A softer commodity complex has applied a modicum of pressure to the Aussie and its high-beta peers.
  • U.S. weekly jobless claims & NZ inflation expectations take focus on the data front, with speeches due from PBOC Gov Yi, RBA's Ellis & Richards, as well as several Fed & ECB members.
