AUSSIE-KIWI
AUSSIE-KIWI: AUD/NZD last sits at NZ$1.0490, 5 pips higher on the day, after
falling 35 pips yesterday.
- A slide in yesterday's Asia-Pac session, inspired by better than expected NZ
trade data, took the rate to its intraday low of NZ$1.0462. Subsequent recovery
attempt held shallow as the pair failed to even retest the NZ$1.0500 barrier.
- Bulls look for a clean break above the Apr 2 & 3 highs of NZ$1.0496 and the
NZ$1.0500 mark before challenging the 100-DMA at NZ$1.0508, followed by the
21-DMA at NZ$1.0547. Bears initially target the new 2.5-month low touched
yesterday and a break here would give them a green light for targeting the
NZ$1.0452-54 area, which registered highs on Mar 27, Mar 29 and Apr 1.
- Focus turns to the RBNZ monetary policy decision, due later today. For our
