AUD on the Up, GBP/AUD Testing Key Support Trendline

  • AUD/USD extending the bounce as the greenback trades softer for a third consecutive session. This puts AUD/USD north of $0.69 for the first time since July 1st, and opens first resistance at 0.6912, the 38.2% retracement of the Jun 3 - Jul 14 downleg.
  • In FX crosses, GBP/AUD has broken to new July lows and is testing the uptrendline support drawn off the May lows of 1.7180. Further weakness marks a break of support and opens June 16th lows at 1.7310. The cross has printed lower highs for six consecutive sessions, reinforcing the sell-on-rallies theme.
