AUSSIE: AUD/USD has edged higher this morning, as e-minis have ticked higher on
a positive lead from Friday's Wall Street session. Concerns over the coronavirus
situation, both globally and in the Australian state of Victoria, continue to
linger, but the rate has inched higher nonetheless.
- Over the weekend, Victoria's Premier Andrews stressed the importance of
mask-wearing, while the nation's Dep Chief Medical Officer Coatsworth said that
a vaccine for Covid-19 may not be available for 18-24 months.
- AUD/USD last sits at $0.6959, 9 pips better off. A break above Jul 9 high of
$0.7001 would open up Jun 10 high of $0.7063. Conversely, a fall through Jul 7
low of $0.6922 would expose Jun 30 low of $0.6833.
- Nothing much on Australia's docket today, focus moves to Tuesday's NAB
Business Confidence Survey & ABS weekly payroll jobs & wages, Wednesday's
Westpac Consumer Confidence Survey and Thursday's labour market report.
