US DATA: Aug durable goods new orders +4.5% vs +2.6% exp, led up by    
+13.0% in transport. 
- Durable goods ex-trans orders +0.1%, below the +0.4% expected, 
held back by decreases in computers and electronic products and the all
other durables category. The other categories were up modestly.                                   
- Within transport, nondefense aircraft orders +69.1% after -29.1% in    
July, and mtr vehicle orders -1.0%, while defense aircraft orders        
+17.0%. The unlisted transportation components +39.7%, according to an  
MNI calc.                                                               
- Nondefense capital goods new orders +7.6%, but -0.5% ex. aircraft.     
- Durable shipments +0.8%. Nondef cap gds shipments +3.0%, but +0.1% ex.
air. Durable inventories -0.4%, unfilled orders +0.9%.
