YEN SUMMARY: *Aug29 dollar-yen open Y109.25, range Y108.34 to Y109.26
*Dollar-yen opened in Asia toward the upper side of yesterday's Y109.03 to
Y109.41 range, where broad-based dollar weakness was somewhat negated by
euro-yen demand.
*Reports of a launch by North Korea of a ballistic missile that flew into
Japanese airspace prompted wide-spread risk aversion, dollar-yen came under the
cosh from the get-go, the rate dropping quickly from around Y109.25 to Y108.34.
*The arrival of Tokyo players brought much needed liquidity and support, the
dollar rose from around Y108.40 to Y108.95
*As investors watched for further development on the Korean peninsula,
dollar-yen consolidated in a Y108.64-93 range
*Resistance lies at Y109.03-05 (former hourly support now res), further techs
are seen at Y109.09 (50% Y109.84-Y108.34), while Asia's low of Y108.34 provides
initial support, with key-support then seen at Y108.13 marking the year-to-date
low on April 17
