August durable goods new orders +1.7%, well.>

US DATA
US DATA: August durable goods new orders +1.7%, well above the 
+0.8% expected after the unrevised 6.8% drop in July. Ex-transport 
+0.2%, just below the +0.3% expected. Transport orders +4.9%, with 
nondefense aircraft orders +44.8%, but defense aircraft orders -24.3%. 
Motor vehicles orders +1.5%. The unlisted transportation components were 
+11.0%, according to an MNI calc. Outside of transport, there were gains 
for manufacturing with unfilled orders, primary metals, machinery, and
computers and electronic products, while all other durable goods was 
flat and there were declines in fabricated metal products and electrical 
equipment and appliances. Nondefense capital goods new orders were 
+4.7%, and were +0.9% ex. aircraft. Durable shipments +0.3%, with nondef 
cap gds shipments -1.5% but +0.7% ex. air. Durable inventories +0.3%,
