Australia Adds Full Time Jobs

The headline figure showed Australian employment fell 138k in September, a bigger drop than expected. However the breakdown of the report shows that full time jobs gained by 26.7k while part time jobs fell 164.7k.

  • The unemployment rate fell below esimates, but was coupled with a drop in the participation rate.
  • AUD holding most of its earlier gains, AUD/USD last up 9 pips at 0.7388. Resistance now seen at 0.7405 76.4% retracement of the Sep 3 - 29 downleg.
