                           May-August February-May
---------------------------------------------------------------

FACTORS: Job vacancies rose sharply in the May-August period following an
upward revision to the gain in the February-May quarter. The latest increase was
the largest since late-2010 and was due to a big jump in private sector jobs.
TAKEAWAY: The data is consistent with strong employment growth in the
Australian Bureau of Statistics' monthly labor force surveys that saw a rise of
268,400 jobs in the first eight months this year, marking a monthly average gain
of around 33,000.
