Austrian OMV Continues To Take Russian Gas

NATURAL GAS

Austrian OMV purchased on average 4.8TWh of natural gas per month from Gazprom in Austria in the first quarter of this year, the firm said.

  • Natural gas deliveries from Gazprom are purchased under a long-term agreement.
  • The firm continuously experiences unpredictable gas delivery volumes which resulated in a negative financial impact for OMV, it said.
  • While other European countries such as Germany stopped receiving piped gas from Russia via the Nord Stream pipeline, Austria can receive Russian gas via the Brotherhood gas pipeline through Ukraine and Slovakia.
