Azerbaijan To Start Gas Exports To Hungary By End 2023

Azerbaijan plans to start exporting natural gas to Hungary by the end of the year, after the country announced to export a total of 12bcm of gas to Europe this year, President Ilham Aliyev said.

  • Azerbaijan also started talks with Albania to help build a natural gas grid there to export gas to Albania, while more than ten European countries asked for gas supplies from Azerbaijan after the start of the war in Ukraine, Aliyev said.
  • Baku also plans to enlarge the capacity of Azerbaijan’s gas pipelines due to growing gas demand from European markets.
  • The country plans to increase the TANAP pipeline capacity from 16bcm to 32bcm and the TAP pipeline capacity from 10bcm to 20bcm, the President said this week.
