Baht Slips, Customs Trade Data Eyed


Spot USD/THB has caught a bid today and registered a multi-week high as a result. The rate last deals +0.097 at THB33.688 and a break above the nearby Jan 10 high of THB33.747 would shift focus to Dec 22 high of THB33.835. On the downside, bears look for a slide through Mar 17 low of THB33.208 towards Mar 10 low of THB33.000.

  • Thailand's Customs Department will publish February trade data later today, with monthly trade deficit expected to have widened to $1.405bn.
  • Worth noting the Dep PM Supattanapong and FinMin Arkhom will hold a briefing today on measures to ease burden on low-income households from rising oil prices.
