Banxico’s Esquivel Declines More Government Job Offers

  • Markets are still awaiting any news surrounding the new nominee to the Banxico committee. Finance Minister Rogelio Ramirez de la O will send to the country’s senate a proposal for who should be a deputy governor by December 31, President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador said at a press briefing on Tuesday.
  • Reports yesterday suggested Gerardo Esquivel, whose term expires on Dec 31, declined offers that were made by the Finance Ministry last week for different positions in the administration.
  • 12pm Mexico City time: Mexico stock exchange to hold annual general meeting followed by an extraordinary general meeting at 2pm.
