US DATA
US DATA: Barclays highlight that the big data release for the week is US CPI on
Thursday. They forecast "headline CPI at 0.4% m/m (a soft 0.4%) and 1.9% y/y,
driven by higher energy prices. For core CPI, we forecast 0.1% m/m (1.6% y/y),
an incremental improvement from very soft prints of recent months".
- Most analysts are expecting that the Fed will announce a tapering at the FOMC
meeting in 9 days time, which may start after the FOMC meeting or soon
afterwards. Hence, US rates markets are seen to be quite sensitive to surprises
in the final important data releases leading into the Sep 20 meeting.
