CHINA: BBG notes that China's Jiansu has cut its virus emergency level, per
comments from state media.
- N.B. From Xinhua several hours ago: "Several Chinese localities have or plan
to lower their emergency responses towards the coronavirus outbreak. The eastern
province of Jiangxi said that starting Tuesday, the emergency level will be
lowered in 40 counties, cities and districts with low risks of infection. In
south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, authorities lowered the local
emergency response from first-level to third-level at 8 p.m. Monday. The
emergency responses also turned to the third level from the first level starting
on Monday in the southwestern provinces of Yunnan and Guizhou. Since late
January, all provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland have activated
top-level emergency responses to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), canceling
mass events, closing scenic attractions and suspending long-distance buses."
