Biden And Sunak Discuss "Continued Multilateral" Approach In Red Sea

White House National Security Council Spokesperson John Kirby has told reporters that President Biden and UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak have just completed a call to discuss the need for, "a continued, international, multilateral approach to disrupting and degrading Houthi capabilities," in the Red Sea.

  • Kirby says Biden and Sunak also discussed, "the urgent need Ukrainian is facing right now for additional supplement funding and support for their ability to defend themselves on the field of battle."
  • Kirby says that the United States still believes that normalisation of relations between Saudi Arabia and Israel is still possible, despite Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's rebuttal of Palestinian post-war sovereignty: "We were working on it very hard before the 7th of October; we're still working on it."
  • Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan said earlier today that normalisation was unlikely without the creation of a Palestinian state: “That’s the only way we’re going to get a benefit. So, yes.”
