  • Despite a significant drop in approval during the disastrous Covid-19 Delta surge last year, Narendra Modi's ruling BJP party remains on track to win the state election in Uttar Pradesh (10 February to 10 March) and the general election, due before 2024.
  • According to analysts the BJP represents a better chance of positive economic reform in India for investors, although since the repeal of agricultural reforms last year the BJP has pivoted away from reform and toward securing election success.
