BOE 2023 APF rundown set at GBP100 Bln

The BOE MPC voted unanimously to reduce the stock of gilts held in the APF by GBP 100 billion over the period Oct '23 to Sept '24 to a total GBP 658 billion.

  • In Q4 2023, the BOE will sell gilts evenly across the short, medium and long buckets, with an anticipated 4 four auctions in each maturity bucket, each with a planned size of GBP670 million.
  • The first sale will be shorts on Monday October 2, longs on October 9 and mediums on October 16.
  • The Bank will aim at one APF gilt auction per week over Q4.
