BoE's Haldane Expects UK Economy To Stage "Tennis Ball Bounce"

The Daily Mail has circulated an op-ed written by BoE Chief Economist Andy Haldane, who struck some optimistic notes on the UK's economic outlook, noting that "a tennis ball bounce in the UK economy would put it at the top of the G7 growth league table." Haldane writes that despite downside risks, his own "view is that it is more likely the UK economy will power through, rather than relapse, in the months ahead, moving swiftly from bounce-back to boom." He expects inflation to top 2% by the end of the year, while "a year from now, it is realistic to expect UK growth to be in double-digits."
