Boric Government To Promote Safeguards To Avoid Tapping Pensions

Chile's Labor Minister-Elect Jeannette Jara speaking to reporters earlier:

  • The interest of the incoming government of Gabriel Boric will be that workers in Chile have the necessary support so that they do not have to use their own pension fund savings to alleviate the health and social crisis.
  • There is a majority feeling that current pensions are insufficient and that Chile should move to a social security model with a tripartite contribution, with elements of solidarity and with help from the state. (BBG)
