Borsa Istanbul Index Recovers from Near 2-Month Lows

The benchmark Borsa Istanbul stock index ended Wednesday’s session 0.19% in the green, recovering from a low of 7297.00 in the afternoon where it closely matched the 100-DMA and recorded its lowest level since Aug 04.

  • Ekonomi newspaper quoted “experts” as mentioning the 7200 handle as an important psychological support level, while they say 7650 will be monitored on the upside.
  • The banking sector index also recovered from its intraday lows, though still ended the day 0.45% in the red.
  • USDTRY maintained its steady pace of gains and is 0.10% higher at typing. The pair looks set to record its ninth consecutive day of gains.
