BP’s Azeri Pipeline Shipped Third More Turkmen and Kazakh Oil in Q1

The Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline exported 1.4m mt of oil from Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan in Q1, up from 1.02m mt in the same period in 2023, according to Bloomberg.

  • BTC also exported 5.87m mt of Azeri oil over the same period, down from 6.22m mt a year earlier.
  • Kazakhstan is planning to diversify its exports as it is reliant on CPC via Russia for over 80%. It wants to boost oil exports via Azerbaijan by 50%to 180k mt per month.
