BRAZIL: Valor Suggests Petrobras May Announce Increase to Investment Spending

  • Petrobras are expected to announce its business guidelines for the next five years in November, and according to the latest report from Valor, investments could reach US$110 billion, compared to the US$102 billion in the current plan.
  • Valor provide some additional details as follows:
    • "The company is expected to maintain oil and gas production as its main focus. The priority of the 2025-2029 Strategic Plan, the first under Magda Chambriard's management, will be the exploration of new frontiers, such as the Equatorial Margin and the Pelotas Basin, and operations in petrochemicals and fertilizers".
    • "Low-carbon projects, which gained relevance under the company's previous management, will still be part of the plan, although they will receive less attention."
