Breaches ¥90 Handle, Highest Level Since 2015

NZD/JPY breached the ¥90 handle on Tuesday printing its highest level since 2015. Improving risk appetite in lieu of softer than forecast US CPI saw the pair firm ~1.3%.

  • This morning gains have extended a touch and we sit at ¥90.35/40.
  • Bulls focus on holding above ¥90 which opens ¥91, April 2015 high (¥92.41) and 2014 high (¥94.05).
  • On the downside bears look to break below ¥90, this opens the 20-Day EMA (¥88.96) and the low from 26 Oct (¥86.79). The 200-Day EMA is at ¥86.64.
  • A reminder that Q3 GDP from Japan crosses in ~20mins.
