What to Watch: OPEC MOMR, ARA Crude & US Oil Stocks, US CPI

  • The latest Genscape European ARA crude inventories will be released today at 09:00GMT. Stocks last week fell further below normal to 48.8mbbl.
  • The EIA weekly petroleum inventory data for the week ending Dec. 6 is due for release today at 10:30ET (15:30GMT). A Bloomberg survey expects a 0.74mbbl draw in U.S. crude stocks, a 0.55mbbl build in gasoline and a 1.19mbbl build in distillates while refinery utilisation fell 0.53 percentage points.
  • The US CPI data is due at 08:30ET. The November data is expected to show headline ticking up to 2.7% y/y but core steady at 3.3% y/y. The Fed is currently forecast to cut rates 25bp on December 18.
  • The OPEC Monthly Oil Market Report is due for release today (at 12:40 CET last month) with focus on the global market balance and future demand growth forecasts.
