BRICS Parties Dialogue To Discuss Geopolitics, Multipolar World Order

Nomvula Mokonyane, who chairs South Africa's ruling ANC's subcommittee on international relations, said that the upcoming BRICS Political Parties Dialogue will discuss partnership between BRICS and Africa, sustainable development, peace and security, sustainable economy and trade, experiences on political party renewal, as well as expanding BRICS membership.

  • The conference involving 54 political parties from around the world will take place in Johannesburg from July 18 to 20. Mokonyane said that participating parties will discuss their role in the world shifting towards a multipolar world order. The official had earlier suggested that parties could discuss measures to end the war in Ukraine.
  • The BRICS Political Parties Dialogue will take place just one month ahead of the much awaited BRICS leaders summit. In an interview with the Mail & Guardian, Deputy President Paul Mashatile suggested that the decision on Vladimir Putin's participation may be announced in the coming days.
