Bulgaria Begins Works On Delayed Serbia Gas Link

Bulgaria has started construction of the natural gas link with Serbia that is scheduled to be operational by the end of the year, Bulgarian Energy Minister Rossen Hristov said.

  • Bulgaria has been considering the project since 2012.
  • The 170km gas pipeline will run from the Bulgarian town of Novi Iskar to Nis in Serbia.
  • The new pipeline will grant Serbia access to non-Russian supplies from the Southern gas corridor and LNG terminals in Greece and Turkey.
