 UK DATA: UK Q4 Deficit Could Exert Larger Drag on GDP

The UK trade deficit was revised lower to Stg9.538 billion from the 
Stg10.355 billion reported last month. However, the Q3 shortfall was 
also revised downward, suggesting that trade could shave as much as 0.3 
percentage points from total growth in later calculations of Q4 GDP, 
after subtracting 0.12pp in last month's early release. In the month of 
January, the deficit expanded to Stg3.825 billion from Stg3.448 billion, 
while the trade gap in goods increased to Stg13.084 billion from 
Stg12.686 billion.
