Bunge Repeats Familiar Messages On The SEK

Riksbank Deputy Governor Bunge's latest comments do not add much new to the policy debate, covering largely familiar topics on the SEK discussed at the latest Monetary Policy decision and the accompanying minutes. The SEK is steady against the EUR as a result.

  • The slides accompanying her speech look at the potential factors driving the weak SEK, many of which were discussed in the article "The krona will strengthen in the medium term" presented in the September MPR (see here).
  • As in the article above, she notes that there is still scope for the SEK to strengthen further.
  • Overall, she notes that the inflation outlook remains uncertainty as a result of the weak krona in spite of progress in recent months.
