Markets are in the green in Asia, following a positive lead from the US where markets hit record highs. Japanese markets are one of the bet performers, flipping from heavy losses in previous sessions, though have come off highs during the lunch break. There were reports that the BoJ could widen the interest rate target range. South Korea saw robust gains, vaccine maker SK BioScience shares rocketed 30% on their first day of trading.

  • Markets in Australia and New Zealand are the exceptions to gains today, both markets suffering negative territory, economic indicators domestically have improved and participants speculate that support measures could be withdrawn.
  • Futures in Europe and the US are higher, but gains are minor after significant upside post-FOMC yesterday. The Nasdaq is the laggard, in minor negative territory after erasing their earlier gain as tech stocks come under pressure.
