CABLE: Cable consolidated back above $1.30 Thursday in reaction to encouraging
Brexit headlines with RTRS sources suggesting that the EU welcomes a new Brexit
plan re: the Irish border from the UK, although EU chief negotiator Barnier once
again pointed to the need for a sound Irish border backstop late in the day.
- GBP/USD last $1.3020, with Thursday's price action leaving the technical
picture neutral. Yesterday's high ($1.3041) provides the initial point of
resistance, while the 55-DMA provides initial support.
- UK docket highlights next week include Aug GDP data, as well as trade &
production data.
