Canada Looking at EU LNG Export Options

Canada's Trudeau told reporters outside the G7 meeting, his country is looking at expanding its energy infrastructure to help Europe over the medium term.

  • He said there are opportunities to build facilities that could export liquefied natural gas to the continent. The infrastructure could then be used to transport hydrogen in the future.
  • Germany and Canada have been discussing options for an LNG terminal on Canada’s east coast to export to Europe.
