Candidate Pita Says He Has Enough Support To Be PM

Move Forward’s PM candidate Pita has said that he has enough support to be approved as Thailand’s next PM, according to Reuters. An 8-party coalition has been formed to take over government next month. Pita has 312 votes from this alliance but needs 376 in total from both houses of parliament. He has said that he has enough senate support “to become prime minister”. Parliament reopens on July 3 and a PM is expected to be chosen on July 13. USDTHB has risen 3.5% since the mid May election in response to the political uncertainty.
