CBA: Card Spending Flat On The Week

AUSTRALIA

CBA note that "household credit and debit card spending was little changed over the week ending 21 August 2020 and sits 5% higher than a year ago. Green shoots are emerging in the mining states of WA and QLD as well as Tas where spending is running above pre‑crisis levels. National in‑store spending has been weak with NSW and Vic placing a lid on total spending growth over recent weeks. The services components of Victoria's economy have been hit hardest. Especially personal care and eating and drinking out."
