CBA In Line With Wider Consensus On Labour Market Report

AUSTRALIA

Ahead of today's labour market report CBA note that they “expect a smaller lift in employment in March of +20k. There was a large bounce of 64.6k in February as a lot of the unemployed future starters from January began work. Given the large lift in the population each month close to 30k jobs need to be added each month to keep the unemployment rate steady. As a result with an unchanged participation rate we expect the unemployment rate to lift to 3.6% in March.”
