UK: CBI poll: vital services sector hit by Brexit uncertainty (The Times)
- Uncertainties over Brexit have stifled Britain's services sector with
confidence and profits falling, according to a survey published today.
- Sentiment within the sector deteriorated across the board in the three months
to August as fears over a chaotic departure from the European Union rose, the
CBI poll found.
- Consumer service companies, including hotels, bars, restaurants and leisure
firms, suffered a fourth consecutive fall in business activity and are braced
for a slide next quarter. Expectations are at the lowest level since early 2012,
according to the survey.
