Cenovus Energy Restarts Majority Of Wildfire-Impacted Production

Cenovus Energy on Monday restarted around 62,000boepd of production that was shut amid wildfires in Alberta in May according to Reuters.

  • Cenovus’ 85,000boepd were impacted in Rainbow Lake, Kaybob-Edson, Elmworth-Wapiti and Clearwater operating areas.
  • The firm will further restart 20,000boepd of Rainbow Lake operations within 7-10 days, while 3,000boepd will remain offline, awaiting power infrastructure to be rebuilt.
  • Pipestone reported in end-May it plans to increase production volumes to full capacity, after the wildfires affected 20,000boepd of production capacity.
  • Vermilion Energy reported in mid-May it had restored 60% of the 30,000boepd of production that was temporarily shut.
