Central Bank Announces New Board Member

BRAZIL

Brazilian central bank director Fernanda Nechio has resigned for personal reasons, Governor Campos Neto said in a statement on Thursday. She will be replaced by Fernanda Guardado.

  • Guardado has relevant market experience, having worked for hedge funds and was chief economist at Banco Bocom BBM. She holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the prestigious Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro.
  • In line with other key directors, Guardado's professional background indicates a high degree of market fluency and reinforces the overall profile of the BCB board under Roberto Campos Neto. (BBG)
