Central Bank Extends Fed Swap Line Until Year End

  • Covid Update: Mexico administered 441,040 doses of vaccine against the coronavirus on June 15, according to data released by the Health Ministry Wednesday night. (BBG)
    • Health officials have now administered just over 38 million shots of Covid vaccine in total, the data show.
    • Deaths rose by 200, according to the same release.
  • "Comments by President Andres Manuel Lopez and Raquel Buenrostro, the head of the tax collection agency (SAT), indicate that the upcoming tax reform will be limited in scope, focused almost entirely on closing loopholes for large companies," according to a research note by the Eurasia Group.
  • Separately, Mexico's central bank announces agreement to extend its swap line with the Fed to Dec. 31, 2021, according to a statement.
