Central Bank Survey Predicts October Lift-Off For Rates

  • Analysts expect an increase in Colombia's benchmark interest rate of 25bps to 2% in October as inflation expectations increase, according to the median estimate of the central bank's most recent survey of economists. This was brought forward from the May survey that predicted a rate hike in December.
  • A car bomb exploded inside a military base in the Colombian border town of Cucuta on Tuesday, leaving 36 people injured, including three in critical condition, officials said.
