Chevron Workers To Intensify Strikes from 14 September

LNG

Workers at Chevron’s Gorgon and Wheatstone LNG facilities will increase industrial action from 14 September onwards with rolling 24-hour stoppages each day for two weeks, the Offshore Alliance said on social media.

  • “The Offshore Alliance lawyers have served Chevron with a further Notice of Protected Industrial Action which will commence after our first 7 days of PIA kicks off on Thursday 7th September. The new Protected Industrial Action Notice will escalate work bans and the OA will have rolling 24 x 1 hour stoppages, each day for 14 days from Thursday 14th September”, the Alliance said.
  • On Monday Chevron and the unions began mediation discussions in order to avert strike action. Chevron last week said it applied to the Fair Work Commission to seek assistance in dealing with the dispute.
