CHILE: August Economic Activity, Quarterly Public Finance Report

  • Economic activity data for August will be published at 1230BST(0730ET). Following yesterday’s stronger-than-expected retail sales and industrial production figures, the Bloomberg consensus for today’s data has risen slightly, with analysts now expecting activity to rise by 0.3% m/m and 2.5% y/y in August. Later today, IMCE business confidence figures for September may also cross.
    • Aug. Economic Activity YoY, est. 2.5%, prior 4.2%
    • Aug. Economic Activity MoM est. 0.3%, prior 1.0%
  • Meanwhile, Chile’s Budget Office Director Javiera Martinez will present the government’s quarterly Public Finance Report before a Senate committee from 1400BST(0900ET).
  • Following the announcement of the government's 2025 budget proposal on Sunday, the government has set a limit for local and foreign debt issuance next year at $17.5bn.
