CHILE: BCCh Governor Costa Expects Increase In Trade Tensions

On the domestic economy, she said that inflation was higher than the central bank expected in October, although the base case on inflation hasn’t changed. She expects transitory costs pressures in the economy, with somewhat weaker consumption.
  • On the data front, the local calendar is light at the start of the week, with attention on month-end activity data for October on Friday, including retail sales, IP and copper production. CPI data for November are due on Dec 6.
  • In other news, workers at the Ventanas port resumed talks with management over the weekend in a bid to end a strike that has disrupted copper shipments, according to a union leader.
