China-Bound Supertankers Hit Seven-Month Low: Bloomberg

The number of supertankers signalling China as their next destination fell to the lowest in seven months over the past week, according to Bloomberg ship tracking.

  • 91 vessels were headed to China in the coming 90 days, down 8 in the past week.
  • This is the lowest level since Nov. 3.
  • Meanwhile, Iraq-bound vessels increased by four to 20, the highest level since mid-2017 when Bloomberg started tracking VLCCs and ULCCs combined.
  • Vessels bound for US are up 2 to 37.
